Georgina Galea

08_Falling_PBEAT2023_Highly Commended

Using the flowering spiny heads of the native Lomandra plant, I have created an installation that depicts rainfall, which is a powerful force within nature but also a nurturing one, from the germination of the tiniest seed through to continually sustaining the life of all plants and trees on the planet.

Georgina Galea is a conceptual visual artist from the Blue Mountains who has a degree in Fine Arts. She often borrows on her background in pattern design to realise her conceptual works.
