An opportunity to get your hands dirty and learn about environmental conservation firsthand! We are a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation which relies on the kindness of community volunteers and specialists who dedicate their time and knowledge.
Invitation to New Volunteers
Volunteers are at the heart of Pearl Beach Arboretum. It was our dedicated volunteers who initially developed the Arboretum beyond its original boundaries, when they reforested 1 hectare of land in 2003 adding to the existing protected bushland.
As a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation, it’s our special volunteers who have helped us grow over the past four decades.
Today, we still rely on a committed collective of volunteers who regularly help us maintain this unique pocket of Australian bushland. Many of our volunteers are also Members of the Crommelin Native Arboretum Inc. but this is not a requirement.
We always welcome new volunteers. If you are keen to lend a helping hand and spend some valuable time surrounded by nature, we would love to hear from you!
You don’t have to be particularly green-fingered to work with us, but you do have to enjoy spending time in sunshine and the great outdoors. Whatever your ability, we can easily find something to get you involved with at the Arboretum!
Pearl Beach Arboretum volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of tasks, some of the most common include:

Maintaining accessible walking tracks

Removing noxious and environmentally invasive weeds

Removing trees and tree branches considered unsafe

Collecting native seeds for propagation

Tending to our seed propagation project shade-house

Watering newly transferred seedlings throughout the Arboretum

Assisting with educational programs or live events

Document fauna visiting the Arboretum, particularly bird species
