Tiarne Lyons

06_One sleep away

Patterned kookaburra and turkey feathers, seashells and gumnuts; some of the many alluring treasures that surround the beautiful and sacred grounds of Pearl Beach. This life-sized dreamcatcher, woven together with sticks and organic string, is bound by gemstones and coral representing the familiar streets and avenues that I have the privilege to call my home. It invites viewers on a lucid dreamy journey through our beautiful community, through a subjective lens.

Tiarne Lyons is a 19-year-old art student. Her great ancestors were amongst the very first settlers in Pearl Beach, grounding her with a rich sense of connection to her home here. This has inspired her to explore personal and structural frameworks revolving around the ideology of home and attachment, within ephemeral matter.
