Bench Refurbishment

There are many wooden benches throughout the Arboretum. Coming up to being in place at the Arboretum for 20 years or more they have ended in a state of disrepair. We have therefore started a refurbishment project to bring them back to the condition they were in when first installed. Go Natural Timbers in Auburn NSW have kindly donated a number of slabs to help replace some of the seats and backs.

The process still involved removing years of varnish and salvaging as much as possible. There are 16 benches throughout the Arboretum and so far, we have completed just one.

It will be a few years before we complete them all.
