Science in the Arboretum - Invertebrate Biodiversity.

Associate Professor Tanya Latty will talk on Invertebrate Biodiversity on the Central Coast; the role of citizen science; and contributing to iNaturalist.

The talk will be for 30-40 mins plus questions in the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall (9 Diamond Rd) followed by a nature walk through the Pearl Beach Arboretum to the Arboretum Cottage where afternoon tea will be served.


Assoc. Prof. Tanya Latty is an entomologist with a special interest in insect behaviour and ecology. She has a BSc in Biology and Environmental Science and a PhD in insect ecology. She is passionate about insect conservation, behaviour and ecology. Tanya will also talk about the use of iNaturalist to contribute to citizen science.



 
 

ABOUT THE ARBORETUM

The Arboretum, established in Pearl Beach since 1976, is a natural botanic garden open to the public for free. Our Arboretum is a sanctuary for rare and threatened plant species, spanning 5.5 hectares of land in the Pearl Beach community. Sorry no domestic animals, fires, BBQs or smoking are allowed in the Arboretum except with special permission.
